Intermittent Fasting

Practiced by different cultures and religious groups around the world for health and spiritual benefit for centuries, intermittent fasting is a diet strategy that alternates between periods of fasting (either no food at all or reduced caloric consumption) and periods of unrestricted eating.

Intermittent fasting has been shown to promote a beneficial cellular process known as autophagy and even increases anti-ageing/longevity by increasing growth hormone and reducing the risk of chronic metabolic diseases and even cancer.

Research has been shown that such temporary calorie-restricted eating patterns can give your body a chance to “reboot” and heal especially when dealing with chronic inflammatory conditions like asthma, allergies and inflammatory bowel disease, and can reduce inflammatory blood markers like CRP.

The Medi-lite Diet

The Medi-lite program is a perfect blend between the consumption of high-grade low-carbohydrate/sugar catabolic foods, balancing blood sugar, and reaching optimal ketosis aimed at increasing your metabolism and shedding that unwanted fat. Catabolic foods require more calories to burn the food than we actually get from consuming the food.

A well-balanced blood sugar level is key to your overall wellbeing and to successful weight loss. In doing so, your energy will feel great, your moods will feel stable, you will feel greater clarity of mind, hormones will come into balance, cravings will disappear and your overall risk of major chronic disease is reduced.

The last piece of this program is optimal ketosis. Ketosis is the state in which the body uses fat for energy and ketones are produced in the process. Your level of ketosis can be monitored and maintained with a simple dip-stick urine test which will be provided for you.

Because the Medi-lite program limits the intake of carbohydrates and ensures each meal is paired with adequate proteins and good quality fat, there will be a shift from glucose to fat for energy production. This is when the greatest weight loss results occur.

hCG Diet

Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (HCG) is a hormone naturally present in both men and women, but its levels are normally increased by the placenta in pregnant women. During pregnancy, this hormone controls a woman’s increased metabolic needs through the hypothalamus in the brain. In non-pregnant women as well as men who are trying to lose weight, evidence suggests that hCG similarly increases the metabolism, similar to that which happens in a pregnant female.

In the 1950’s, British Endocrinology Physician, Dr. Albert T.W. Simeons created the hCG protocol after discovering that treating non-pregnant obese patients with low dose injectable hCG hormone, while following a specific reduced calorie diet, allowed the body to burn fat at a more efficient rate. In the last ten years, the medically supervised HCG Diet has become a sought after weight loss plan due to its level of safety and effectiveness.

Our program is run from 3 to 6 weeks depending on your weight loss goals and at the end of the 40-day program, the average weight loss is usually between 25-40 pounds (10 kg to 18 kg).
